Challenge Brief
Austin Pratik is a real designer with a real portfolio at austinpratik.framer.website. The site works. It looks decent. But could it be better?
This challenge: redesign it. Take the existing portfolio, study what's there, identify what could be stronger, and ship a redesign that elevates how Austin's work is presented.
This is a real-world UX exercise: working with constraints (existing content, identity, target audience), making thoughtful improvements (not just stylistic ones), and defending your decisions. The community votes on the most thoughtful redesign.
The portfolio to redesign:
https://austinpratik.framer.website/

Spend time on it before you start designing. Notice what works. Notice what doesn't. Notice what's missing.
What you're redesigning:
The full portfolio site. At minimum:
Homepage / landing
About section
Projects / work showcase
Contact section
You can rearrange the IA (information architecture). You can add sections. You can remove sections. Make the case for your changes.
What we're looking for:
A clear improvement story — what did you change and why?
Better visual hierarchy
Stronger presentation of his work (this is the most important part)
Improved navigation / UX flow
Mobile experience that doesn't feel like an afterthought
Tasteful design that respects his identity (don't rebrand him entirely)
What we're NOT looking for:
A complete identity overhaul that ignores who Austin is
"Trendy" design tricks that don't serve the content
Pure visual flexes with no UX thought
Pixel-pushing without rationale
What to submit:
Your redesign — Figma file (set to "Anyone with link can view") OR a live URL
Minimum 5 screens — homepage, about, projects index, single project detail, contact
Mobile + desktop versions — both required
A 300-word writeup — submitted as the description of your submission. Tell us:
What you noticed about the original
What you changed and why
What you intentionally kept (and why)

Rules & Eligibility
Original work only. No AI-generated layouts.
Use real content from Austin's actual portfolio (his projects, his bio, his contact info). Don't fabricate new content.
Figma files must be view-only public links.
Stay respectful — this is a real designer's actual work. Critique through your redesign, not your writeup.
Solo only. One submission per builder.
AI assistance for ideation is fine. AI-generated full designs are not.
